I'm gettin very high CPU usage when running mod packs I don't think this is normal. I get 60-70% usage and extreme in game lag. I have xsplit and the game open

Java 64bit
i5 4670k
32GB memory 1600 9-9-9-24
6GB is given to the launcher

in game is set to balanced and its from 25-50 and only goes to 60 very slowly if im sitting still. I have set everything on low and still does it.

Yes I've tried every possible combination max drops all the way too 40 - 120

High CPU usage with modded Minecraft isn't that strange, depending on your modpack. You should also check your Task Manager - go to the Processes tab and sort by CPU usage. That way you can find out if it's actually Minecraft that's using your CPU so much.

I have a similar problem, except for me its caused by the console log window of all things.

Using task manager to kill the console process solves it.

This could be the same for you perhaps?

No that didnt help with xsplit and minecraft running and Im actually playing my CPU usage is at 80-90% which I find really odd.

 

VHMultiWriter(encoder for xsplit) uses about 27% XSplit is around 10%  then Java is any where from 40-60% really need help figuring this out with my setup I shouldnt be experiencing this issue.

 

With XSplit going and the title loaded on MC while typing this Im using 45-50% thats doesnt seem right at all

So Im guessing no one has any clue? Would high cpu usage affect my FPS bc my game starts out fine but as i play through it my FPS goes from 120 to like 20-50

For how long is it at 120fps?

last for about 30 or so minutes then it just drops FPS

Well just now when I go to the nether and comeback to overworld it starts or when I get around my smeltery it starts sometimes

Can you try playing on a different world and seeing if it happens there?
