Hi,

The Factorization's Packager, which I was trying to use to package nuggets of different types into ingots, cannot be automated at all in FTB Unleashed: pulling items from the bottom face does nothing while pulling from any other face pulls from the input rather than the output. I was relying on this device to turn the nuggets grown from ThinkerConstructs oreberries into ingots. Without this, there is just no obvious way to do this. The only solution I found was to use applied energistics, by putting one pattern for each nugget type in the molecular assembler, and having an export bus set up in crafting mode. This works, but this prevents the crafting of any other item: the crafting systems patiently waits for enough nuggets to be available for crafting a new ingot, and that's it! Yes, I could build a secondary ME network, with a molecular assembler dedicated to crafting ingots, or try with a logistics crafting network with one table+pipe per ingot type, but that starts to be ridiculously expensive.

The new version of Factorization doesn't have this issue. I just watched latest Direwolf20's Let's Play Episode where he was setting up a system with a packager, and the device was working very well.

It seems that FTB Unleashed is now unmaintained so if I want an upgrade to Factorization, I have to switch to another modpack like Horizons or Direwolf20, and start over a new map. Same thing happened with FTB Ultimate: a bug prevented me to use Applied Energistics at all and I had to start over from scratch to use the mod in FTB Unleashed. I have more fun crafting than mining and fighting monsters I often have trouble spotting (especially the flying gasts in the Nether) so I would like to progress on my map rather than keep starting up from scratch. I now have quite a bit of resources, thanks to an early-game home-made mining turtle and a quarry, so I would like to make use of that good stuff.

Seems I have to get my hands dirty and start manually upgrading some mods. This is easy in single player, but I am sharing a SMP map with my friend, so any upgrade I do on the server, he has to do it on his side and is not too skilled at this. Is there a way to create a kind of private mod pack that I could send to him?

Thanks for any help.

If everything else fails you can try connecting the Packager to vanilla Hoppers and then pumping in and out of those. Hoppers work fine for me with packagers in Unleashed. By the way, you can also smelt 9 oreberries in the Tinkers' Construct Smeltery and pour the liquid metal into an ingot cast, that way you don't need any kind of packager.

There are also a few other ways to package things in Unleashed, for example BuildCraft has Auto Workbenches which are extremely cheap (12 planks total). And if you have identical ingots from different mods, there are blocks like the Forge Lexicon or Unifier that can convert them all into one kind.

Thanks. I need to try with the hopper. With all this mod, I have a tendency to forget vanilla mechanics, which is always simple and reliable!
