It appears that we have so far always been keeping old mod versions mentioned somewhere - if for example a recipe has changed in between mod versions, we kept the old and added the new one. Even the two versions of the Gregtech-Fusionreactron 9001™ have been kept separate in a single article. There simply is no reason to prefer Thaumcraft's new major version over the older one.
Another example: if Thaumcraft 4 was called Arcanacraft instead for some reason, would we then "archive" Thaumcraft? Of course we wouldn't. After all we also don't "archive" RedPower 2 because we have Project:Red. TC3 and 4 are about as similar to each other as RP2 and P:R are.
^ I'm with that
That just doesn't sound like a reason to link to old material? Why?
as they are not ambiguous

If an article/item has no new version, how can there be an "old" one? There's nothing to prefer over it. Besides, we're just talking about naming here, what we link to is an entirely different thing.

- Moving /TC3 articles that do not have a TC4 counterpart back to their original name, as they are not ambiguous
- Moving all other /TC3 articles to have (Thaumcraft 3) as suffix instead to match the general naming style
So... is everyone fine with this list then?
Sure.

Hope I helped!

I'd also add (Thaumcraft 4) to the name of articles with items in both versions.

fel still is against that, we haven't yet agreed on anything regarding that. That's why I wanted to start doing a few things that all of us agree with.
Against that because there is no point.fel still is against that, we haven't yet agreed on anything regarding that. That's why I wanted to start doing a few things that all of us agree with.
Well, I suppose I can somewhat agree with that, given that we do add a youmay
Which I was also against for the same reason that it clutters up current articles with outdated material.Well, I suppose I can somewhat agree with that, given that we do add a youmay

I wouldn't exactly call that clutter
I would, it serves basically no purpose to the people who are current.I wouldn't exactly call that clutter
fel, why does it matter which packs are "current"? Plenty of people still play Ultimate, even though it has since been replaced by Unleashed and Unleashed has been replaced by Monster. Someone today even had a question about the Omega Bee, meaning they came here looking for information on the Retro pack for 1.2.5. As this wiki is a collection of information to help all FTB players, we should make it as simple as possible for our users to find the information they're looking for, not hide away older information just because you might only play on the latest packs.

I AM ok with leaving the clutter on those articles until no current FTB modpacks use TC3 though.
Well, we will have to reach a consensus, so we'll all have to compromise a bit.
We do? Why?-we will have to reach a consensus
