idk, googling 'free vpn' might help, the first link given is http://www.vpnbook.com/ - but I haven't used that, been using a private VPN server a friend of mine hosts for all my vpn needs (aka when I went to Beijing and had to bypass the great firewall of China)

I myself use http://www.hotspotshield.com on occasion. The only bad part about using a vpn/proxy is that the downloads may be much slower. Also free vpn's will usually contain ads. ~Rawrz

Try viewing the homepage over the Wayback Machine (it's a web service that saves copies of commonly-linked websites every now and then for historical purposes). There is almost no reason why a school proxy would block it. As far as I can tell the launcher files are also archived there, so the links should work. However this will only get you the launcher, to download the packs you need to be able to access creeperrepo.net, either hope that it's not blocked or that a proxy/VPN will work.

By the way, if you have already donwloaded the launcher and modpack (do so at home or somewhere else with unfiltered internet access) you can just turn off your wi-fi and the launcher will give you the option to play offline - Minecraft's login servers tend to be blocked as well.

Yes, you do, but if you're trying to play on a server you'll really need a way to get around the filter. Minecraft's auth servers are very likely blocked, and you need to be logged in online to play on a server.

btw, now I'm curious, what exactly didn't work with the wayback machine link? Did just the download links not work, or was the wayback site blocked as well?

idk when I went to it it was blocked idk how though do you know any accounts that have been in worlds with feed the beast because my cousin says if you do I can go on that and go to the server and it will work.

The modpacks are downloaded to your computer and saved there locally, so even if you logged in with a different account that has already downloaded the packs elsewhere, you would still have to download them again to your computer. Either way you probably still wouldn't be able to log in, because Mojang's account servers are probably also blocked.

just have a friend email you the exe and download it, i think thatll work. You still gotta have an acct, though. so your gonna need wifi. library? friends house?
