For those not aware, apparently members of the fourms not designated as a operator, admin, etc, simply put..the "members" group apparently have no way of deleting posts on topics, or posts in general. Im not sure if i cant see it, or im overlooking it, or if it is even fixable. But hopefully one of the many people responsible for operating these fourms can add a delete button. Just a delete button. Thanks in advance!

No the other one was me questioning why this is me pleading for a delete button of course if there was a delete button i could delete the other one but there isnt so i kinxed myself

And there's your answer, right there. There is absolutely no reason for the other thread to be deleted. Deletion is a powerful tool, so its use is restricted to Moderators, etc who have proven they won't misuse it.

If I were to delete my previous post, it would look like you're talking to yourself and double-posting. You can trust me not to do that, but I assume you can see what sort of problems could be caused, what confusion could arise, if anyone and everyone had this ability. Not everyone would use it appropriately, and deletion cannot be reversed.

 

Though, it looks like the discussion may be pointless anyway. I had a brief look through the Admin Control Panel, and it doesn't look like the forum software has such a feature. You can either grant a group full unrestricted deletion power or no deletion power, there's no option for can-only-delete-their-own-posts.

RZR0 has way more admin control than all other mods and admins... I've seen it on other forums that you can delete your own post if it hasn't been replied to, so this may actually be possible.

I don't really see a reason to implement this, people should put at least some thought into a post before posting. Afterwards any required moderation can still be done by a staff member. As stated before, it really wasn't necessary to make another topic about this.
