ok just a grandma here with limited computer skills.. but set up an unleashed server for myself, a few friends and grandkids..

My question is.. since our initial world has already been created, and we've been playing on it.. is there anyway to ADD biome's o plenty

or create another world with biome's o plenty and link to our existing world?

I do have multiverse and have played with creating worlds.. but not sure how to create one that has biome's o plenty.. and link to it via portal..

Help a grandma out please =)

(if it can be done with Mv, what exactly would I need to type)

Thank you much..

grandma will make you cookies if I can do this.. (and make some kids happy without resetting all the hard work they have done)

You should be able to add biomes of plenty to the server, and make sure to add the mod to your kids and your pack too. Be sure the versions match. COntact your server provider, or acess the files however you can and ass it to the minecraft>mods folder

Does this help with adding the new content to the existing world?

With most mods that have an impact on world generation (like adding ores, beehives, slime islands, etc.) it suffices to enable/install them and they will add their features to all chunks that get generated further on. But those are just minor changes to the world gen. One thing i imagine that could happen would be that BoP just overwrites the world generator and you would get "hard transitions" between the biomes on the chunk boundaries (e.g. old chunk: 20m deep ocean, neighbouring new chunk: 50m high mountain). Also all new biomes would be only in newly generated chunks - that is roughly 160 blocks away from everywhere you've ever been.

I suppose it's totally doable with multiverse or anything else that adds a new overworld dimension. Don't know how though, just wanted to point to that part of the question. ;)

Also thumbs up for being such a cool grandma :D

I think its working, we found a mushroom biome and more lands now..

I turned it all on, rebooted server, flew around and saw new stuff..   turned oceans off too hoping it would not create anymore water.. we have plenty of that lol

also managed to reset nether and add ore's since before it had no ore.. just quartz and pretty stuff and nasties

kids are pleased.. so that makes grandma happy

and thank you.. I try to make it fun for all!  and I'd rather them play on a server with people we know, than a random one.. *(they are 4-9 age range)

I am sure at some point, they will know more about the server and how to run it than I can manage.. until then, I'll just ask for help

thank you graciously!
