Agrarian Skies - server spawn problem

agrarian skies spawn

Best Answer timrem , 19 May 2014 - 05:12 PM

Try this:

  1. write down the coordinates of your base.
  2. shut down the server.
  3. find the config folder for your server, and open jadedspawn.cfg.
  4. change the x/y/z to those of your base and save the changes
  5. start your server

This should change the initial spawn for anyone who joins the server. I'm not 100% sure if it works for people who have already joined the server or only for new players, but I'd hope it works for everyone.

Also: if you know you'll be spawning over the void, I'd suggest changing your gamemode via the server console rather than giving yourself op there and changing gamemode in-client.

I have just started playing Agrarian Skies HQ (v1.2.5) and figured, it just won't be as much fun to play alone than with a couple of others together!

Here's the problem I'm running into - since I'm looking for close co-op, I really don't need the extra islands or the center plaza(?) in the originally provided server map for Agrarian Skies, so I decided to copy and paste the singleplayer map to the server and run it.

Can't seem to change the main server spawn point no matter what I do!!

1. I've tried editing the spawn point in level.dat with MC Edit (made sure the level name in server.properties matched with my copied singleplayer level name - tried player.dat too)

2. tried /jspawn set

3. opped myself and changed to creative and flew to my home and set the spawn there (HAD to die once in the process cuz there just isn't enough time to op myself and change to creative before I fall and die in the void), and although this time it worked for me, any new player entering the server still spawns in the original server spawn point. (Look like the spawn thing works separately for individual players?)

So - is there any possible way to move the server's main/original spawn point so not only myself, but anyone new entering the server will spawn from the newly edited spawn point to start with???

(I've already checked the official forum for Agrarian Skies and all that Jaded suggests is that I change to creative and fly to my home and set the spawnpoint there with /jspawn set... sigh)

Also try using MCEdit to move the spawn.

The jadedspawn mod should be overriding the vanilla spawn point, but if it's not working, that would be the way to go.

guys, really - what can I do to show my humble gratitude???

the jadedspawn.cfg works like a charm!

Even though I'm really lazy, I HATE stretching it to the extent where it annoys other people- so I really did the best I could in googling, reading through the forums here and there.

But the thing is, I simply find that even after the questioning have done their homework, people apparently have the time and will to repetitively give a long 'scolding' speech about how it's all there(which sometimes there is, but other times there really isn't but they just say it's there anyways), but not the generosity to just give the answer instead. (I mean, then why bother writing such long speech???)

So thank you guys- I feel like I've been more than kindly taught from step 1 to 10, and you have been much nicer than was necessary.

hey guys, i have the same problem. changing the so told

AgrarianSkiesHQServer\config\jadedspawn.cfg

file to a coordinate didn't help me. these are a few scenarios i experience:

- i spawn on the island, my friend won't. he persistently spawn on x= 12xx.xx something

- after i die, i start spawning on that point too

i wonder if there are any other files that overrides this?

edit: now i see that even if i change jadedspawn.cfg coordinates, after launching the server .jar file x and z values becomes 0 and y stays the same. what causes this?
