Nether Biomes not generating

Hi,

I was wondering why I cannot find any other biomes in the Nether....looked about 1000 blocks in every direction and nothing, just Hell. Is it really that rare?

BTW I've checked biomes o' plenty config file and they are all enabled.

They seem fairly common to me. Definitely sounds like something is up...
