Bee breeding is intended to be mysterious and about discovery and really really difficult, I don't want that... I want to know what to do to get what I want. There are like 70+ bees if you include the two addon mods that I know about Extra Bees and Vis Bees.

Sadly my server that I play on runs the Tech World modpack so there is no Thaumcraft for me to use the Vis Bees mod addon to find out that info so if there is someone else who does and can help out in that area that would be great.

All info gathered is for the wiki, to be placed in an article that is headed by a spoiler notice, in case there are some people who was the mystery and intrigue that Forestry's modder had planned for this feature, and below lists my own spoiler notice for people skimming over what is said here in the first post.

SPOILER: The contents of this thread discuss features that are meant to be discovered by you yourself and not with the help of cheats from the internet, continue reading at your own discretion.

I love bees. I think youtube is the best current solution to bee questions, with Beetho (ethoslab), GererikBEE (generikb), and many others.

Here are some useful links related to beekeeping, most of which I found through the Feed The Beast reddit. Thanks to the people who created these pages!

(2013-03-09) Some new links!

ExtraBiomesXL Temp/Humidity Spreadsheet

Google Docs: Master Apiarist Database v2.0

Other links:

Google Docs: Master Apiarist Database v1.0

Google Docs: Forestry + Extra Bees Spreadsheet

Bee Site (currently being updated)

Forestry wiki: Beekeeping 101

Probably outdated, but still useful:

True, but I think it would work better with all the info in one location.

Wow... all of that... hmm, nothing on the ThaumCraft bees, do we even have that mod addon in any FTB pack?

EDIT:

So this list is all of the bees in Forestry and Extra Bees?

Thaumic Bees is not included in any of the modpacks afaik. Plornt lists all of the Forestry and Extra Bees bees and plans to have an option for toggling Extra Bees.

The Reddit thread for it can be found here.

You also have http://www.thebeedb.com/

I'm not sure if it covers all the extra bees though, but I find that site very useful.

she explains everything you need to know about bees when starting.

she is also linked in one of generikb's vids.

Also what is the ip of your server?

Bee Site (currently being updated)

lol drat this site is very outdated, I am guessing new bees and bee
breedings has been added since this site last updated because I went to
use it to make the Rusty bee and ended up with a dozen apiaries running
for hours trying to get these two bees to mutate for it but then I
looked elsewhere and found that what I was doing wasn't it anymore. x.x;

I like to figer out the bees without help.

There
are a lot of people who do, and I am finding it to be fun sure, but
with the removal of the condenser I need a lot of iron for a server-wide
rollercoaster.

Oh yeah I saw a youtube video on this and went to check it out.

Interesting...

I've never had any bees other than from the Common branch. Yet I have several Dripping Combs.

Why? I thought they only made Honey Combs.

I'm pretty sure I don't have a Noble bee.

Dripping combs, i guess, are kind of rare form commen drones when crossbreeding.

That would be my guess too. The bee database doesn't talk about it, though. At least, not from my half an hour look on it.

I haven't really gotten into forestry yet, but while running my frame quarry, I noticed some rocky bees in my output chest. What that tells me is that RP2 block breakers can extract bees from hives, despite hives regularly needing a scoop to get bees.

Well, scoops are dirt cheap, so that doesn't really help you. Although, you can quarry for more princesses.
