I'm not sure how to explain this so i will try my best to lay it all out.

 

In the openbocks mod in Direwolf20 1.6.4 there is a block called elevator (called dropblock in the openblocks config file) that lets you kind of teleport up and down, but to use it it takes away your experience.  I know you can go into the config files and change this so there is no cost to use these blocks.  

 

My dilemma is i play on my friends server.  If i was to go in and edit the config file for this block will the server accept the change and let me use the elevator blocks free of charge? or will something mess up and i wont be able to get back onto the sever?

 

To make something like this work would everyone on the server have to change their config files for this mod? or would the owner of the server just have to change theirs?

Changing your client config would have no effect for server play in this case. If you want free-to-use Elevators, you'll need to get your friend to change the server's OpenBlocks config file.
