I was having an issue with my blood altar's well of suffering under my altar. I had built a 5x5x2 with cursed earth lining the bottom and dark glass on the top so I can see in but not cause light to get in. I was working for a while but the issue was my glass kept disappearing when I wasn't looking (I'm assuming it was a creeper [have a sound muffler on it so I can't hear the boom] cause the wall would be missing a chunk from it) I keep having to replace the glass over and over. I finally gave up and made warding focus for my wand and I even made the pit a bit deeper just to be safe. I warded the layer below the cursed earth as well as the walls and the cursed earth itself, but it wont let me ward the dark glass (assuming mod cross support isnt there). When it was all said and done I turned my ritual back on but no mobs where spawning. I pressed f7 but it was showing (as far as i can tell) that the pit was lit despite there being no obvious light sources such as torches or even my blood lamp lights. Does anyone know if the warding actually emits light or warding prevent the effects of cursed earth, or something? I'm posting a link to imgur (first time using imgur so I hope it works). http://imgur.com/b0wggoJ

After some messing around, I decided to remove the warding effect off of the cursed earth and mobs started spawning instantly, so I guess heads up to those who might do what I did and try to ward cursed earth.

Oh... boo.

I came to this thread thinking that warded cursed earth would be AWESOME but am saddened to hear that it doesn't work.

Well one positive is when the creeper exploded it never destroyed the cursed earth, just the blocks around it, so warding it wasn't really necessary, at least against mobs.
