I recently got my DW20 server up and running through minecraftserver.net and when I hopped on for the first time I was unable to set my gamemode to creative. It tells me I have inssuficient permissions when I try the /gamemode command. I tried looking around on my provider's website, looking at the config files without much luck.

 

Any help would me much appreciated, Im a noob when it comes to this stuff.

Are you an op? Try typing /op <your_name> in the console and making sure the op-permission-level in the config is set to 3 or 4.

When I the type /op command it says I do not have permission. I checked to config file and op-permission-level is set to 4.

Does your server host provide you easy access to your server console screen? It sounds like you're trying to do the commands in-game, when you need to be doing them on the console (the console command would be "op playername" without the '/' in front). If not, you'll need to edit ops.txt directly and restart the server.
