I started on Ftb infinity after I was done messing around in ftb monster.

In monster I could get creative flight as early as I got my first steam engine because the costs to create advanced genetics lab and process bat dna were minuscule. But even if I didn't go for advanced genetics I still could still get creative flight with modular power suits.

Now it seems that none of those mods are in ftb infinity, so I'm a bit confused as to what should I use for flight.

I tried goggling it but all I could find is jetpacks (not creative flight) or something to do with quantum armor? (But that requires insane amount of resources)

Advanced Genetics is anything but balanced. As far as I know the intended flight method in Infinity is the GraviChestPlate, which is ridiculously expensive, but that's intentional. Creative flight is powerful and deserves a little effort. ;)

Yeah getting creative flight when all I had is coal and some lead was ridiculously unbalanced. I just wanted to double check that this modpack doesn't have a similar unbalanced method to get creative flight after 30 min of gameplay. I don't mind effort just don't want to stupidly spent 50 hours of gameplay to get gravichest only to find out that I could get genes of.... Oak wood that would make me grow leafy wings and fly or something equally silly  :D

Edit: Also I just noticed a mod - "Simply Jetpacks". It seems to have hover functionality... Which I assume is creative flight.

Infinity has Extra Utilities, so you should have access to creative flight via an Angel Ring. Requires a nether star and a couple unstable ingots to craft, but then only needs to be in your inventory (not even equipped anywhere) and you can fly forever.
