Sometimes parts of the wiki interface text display in their internal/unlocalized form, for example the "Expand" link in navboxes as "<collapsible-expand>". This doesn't happen very often, but when it happens it does so consistently on all pages, especially noticeable when I open about 10 recent changes diffs at once. (No idea if that has anything to do with it.) Has anyone else noticed this as well, or am I the only one?

I've noticed it happen once within the past week. I've probably encountered it more than that, but I only noticed it the once.

I have noticed it, I'm not 100% sure what causes it, but it does seems to happen when I clear the object cache, like I did last night.

What exactly does the object cache do? It is possible to customize interface text using pages in the MediaWiki namespace, so it's possible that clearing the cache could affect that.

It's a key-value store. I don't know if the interface text can be customized.
