I'm on direwolf 20, and used the mutatron to make me some prestine diamandi bees, and after about a day, I had a queen disappear on me...Thought maybe someone stole it, so I mutated another, and claimed the land. Then today I found a princess with no drone; and now i'm not so sure that the last one was stolen. (as far as I know, they're supposed to produce 1 drone and 1 princess per life cycle.)

Is this normal, a glitch, or what?

//edit//

just lost another 2 sets of diamandi bees.

How about some screenshots of your bee setup.

If you suspect thieves, you should look into making a secure location to do bees in. Thaumcraft's Warding Focus is a top pick for this, but a Pneumatic Craft Security Station is also a good idea for a large area.

I like that one mod that opens up a new dimension with a small room that is only accessible by you.

They could easily be bouncing out of the pipes. Buildcraft pipes sometimes have that problem.

If you want to continue using BC pipes you could set up a convoluted cyclical system, I find one involving chests everywhere and a long timer on the output pipes works better for server play but some people just like constant movement.

My advice: get started with Gendustry as soon as possible. It requires you to have RF power, but an Industrial Apiary with an Automation upgrade is so much nicer than any system of piping bees around.

If you're not at a level where that's an option, you could work around the problem by having vacuum hoppers in the area, so that any bees that do accidentally escape the pipes will be picked up.

I disagree, Gendustry changes the mod completely and makes the effort pretty much unnecessary.

Yes that! I like that.

I have some idustrials apiaries too, and I'm using a solar generator to power them...but i need a lot more diamonds if I wanna make another set.

I was using diamandi to help in that area while i focused on blood magic.

Does this modpack have a config setting that gives bees a chance to die completely?

mouse over them. only use pristine bees. they'll die off some generations down the line if they're ignoble. I forgot they changed that

Ohhhh! I had assumed this was mentioned already!

Yeah it was about a year or so ago that some bees naturally die off if they are not pristine.

If I recall correctly, Pristine bees may become Ignoble if frames are used to accelerate them too much.
