So the custom brews all look the same... should they all have the same brew bottle image or should a kettle, the item used to make custom brews, be what is shown as the image?

There would be four bottle shapes since they have different bottling capabilities, but... different colors?

RZR0 says that no in-game image can be acquired.

Hmmm, well each brew is made from one specific item each, like the Brew of Combustion is made from charcoal and the Brew of Resizing is made from an emerald, maybe those individual items could be used instead?

How about a Bottle with the item inside? (made a few examples)

That would confuse people?

That's not what RZR0 said. I said the brews do not show up in NEI. I need to be able to get the item in my inventory to capture the image.

Though you get an A+ for effort, I don't think that's a very good idea. We should document things as they are in the game, that means we shouldn't make up things, but the same should be true for images. You can't slap a home-made image onto an item because you think it's descriptive. If it's not an image of the item, it's misleading at best.

My mistake for miswording that then.
What the item would be is likely witchery:custombrew:yellow, witchery:custombrew:limegreen, witchery:custombrew:brown, and so forth, but I don't know the exact code for sure so until I can figure out how to get all sixteen of them I feel that the official documentation for imaging them is our best bet, things like emeralds for the brew of resizing and wheat for the brew of moonshine.

I agree my friend, yet had to come up with a compromise for the time being, as using the item used to make the brew was terrible, and Fel was beligerent about it and didn't seem to want plain coloured bottles (my first idea - as I thought that the brew would take on the color of the ingredient used to make it)... to his credit he did show me the entries in the book through screen shots, which looked like the image for the brew (this is sorta ok for the nav)... until I opened the book myself and saw that those were the ingredients for the brew...

Anyways I guess now it's up to Fel to make those brews and render the image of what he gets from the mod.

Belligerent is a bit strong.

Plain bottles were never discussed and going by the official documentation was our safest and best route.

ya it is a bit strong, but I like that word... I'm been beligerent too when I keep saying that the "official" documentation shows the ingredient used to make it not the brew's image...

Bottles coloured with the colour of the ingredient used to make the brew was my first idea, I thought I posted that somewheres...

It is the only official thing we currently have, the feed-the-beast wiki even uses those images.
As far as a wiki is concerned, it is best to be as official as possible.

I thought that was the bottle with the ingredient inside it?
I had suggested that once we have the sixteen custom brew images we could assign the color based on the ingredient?

Now that we have the two different shapes of brews (I think they only look like these two?), the brew of colored water and the brew of combustion, we can just use one of those two brew bottles for every custom brew.

Thoughts anyone?
