I'd recommend starting with one of the earlier tech mods, such as IndustrialCraft, Buildcraft, or Thermal Expansion, and possibly some EnderIO.

I'd recommend starting with one of the earlier magic mods, such as Thaumcraft or Ars Magica, or you might be interested in Millenaire.

FTB Infinity doesn't even have Millenaire.
(And most people start with tech mods.)

I don't know what that has to do with anything?FTB Infinity doesn't even have Millenaire.
One of the FTB modpacks has it if you are looking for it for some reason but I forgot which one because they said they weren't updating the pack anymore.
I disagree, I know a lot of people that started with Millenaire and that is not a tech mod.(And most people start with tech mods.)
