there is no option to use paper for tool parts, am i going to be forced to use thaumium (but even so, only 1 piece can be used per tool for modifiers otherwise it is pointless)

Cant use paper for tool parts in infinity evolved skyblock

just mouse over the pattern to see what materials are available to be made into that tool. If magical wood is available that gives +2 modifiers and then you can replace the parts to get more durability/speed/etc.
