ME fluid export issue

ME Fluid Export Bus Applied Energistics 2 Extra Cells 2

Best Answer EatenByPie , 01 June 2016 - 02:10 PM

As stated before, the dense cable has no additional connections, I run colored cables out of the controller to prevent crossover and am careful using fluix 'colored' cables for hookups (which can be a massive nuisance)

As of restarting this morning, it is functioning while still displaying that it is missing a channel. Problem solved enough for operation I suppose.

I did notice that the reactor is not producing any RF though, the internal battery is not charging with only a disabled tesseract hooked up for power export (the big reactors turbine which shares the tesseract is charging fine). Is that normal for active cooling? First time using this as a steam source, and the only thing I've been able to find regarding that question was someone saying that hooking up a turbine can nearly double the reactors efficiency, which implies that it should be producing power, although it could mean the turbine can be producing twice as much power as the reactor per fuel used.

Edit: The reactor is now causing a CTD when attempting to change the fuel rods insertion amount. Is this thing even worth the effort? I'd kinda prefer not to need to do something boring like a blood magic lava crystal setup. System has 16GB RAM with 6 designated for the game, so crashes really shouldn't be an issue.

Running the most recent version of FTB infinity, I set up a standard ME system for storage/crafting, and decided to use the Big Reactors reactor to provide steam for my turbine rather than high pressure tanks. Did a 5x5 reactor case with a basic X of 15 total fuel rods, tested it out and quickly realized that a basic pump/ender tank setup wasn't going to cut it for supplying water. My solution was to hide a room underground with some aqueus accumulators in it, the water being pumped into my ME, which I added a fluid drive to. Inputs fine. That was pretty much the last thing that worked fine though. Ran 24 units of a new color of dense cable from a fresh ME controller side towards my reactor (i plan on adding more things into that area), and ran the remaining 40 or so with basic 8 channel glass. Hooked up an export for yellorium and and import for cyanite  (both confirmed working), but when I tried hooking up the fluid export (with water set as the export) it kept reading device missing channel. Those 3 things are the only things hooked up on that line, and the dense cable changes from 2 to 3 channels used when the fluid export is attached, even though it reads device missing chennel and is non-functioning. The cable has no loops in it, and is not connecting with any other cables. Tried using a 256k drum as a buffer tank in case of compatibility issues (drum was mentioned on the wiki's ME fluid export page as something it works well with), and it still showed up as device missing channel. Removed the i/o for the reactors fuel (only other two things on the cable), it still showed no channel available, with one channel used on the dense cable. Removed the fluid export, and the dense cable showed 0 channels used. Tried toggling i/o on the fluid port, tried breaking it and replacing it,

Any thoughts?

Sometimes the cable runs out of channels because it touches the other dense cables (For me it happens near the ME Controller block). Try walking from the buses to the controller, checking the number of channels. It has to be less or equal than 32 at the very beginning. Can we have a picture of the ME Controller and of the system you're talking about? If the tight space is an issue, dense ME Conduits from EIO can be r-clicked with any wrench to stop connecting to a block (or other cable, in our case), making it possible to run next to each other, without having 1 block inbetween to prevent connection.

If your reactor is generating steam, it will not generate RF. As for any crashing issues, we cannot assist without crash logs.
