First i would like to state i am a Noob in minecrft please keep that in mind at all times.

a little background. i only ever played vanilla minecraft, i never used even 1 mod. to understand the level of knowledge i will say this: i never tryed to go to the end, touched only a little of the nether and never used a redstone for more then decorations.

FTB here i come lol.  :P

anyway, decided i wanted to see what the world of mod packs have to offer and jumped "head first" strait in with sky factory 2.5. you don't know how overwhelming it is to suddenly deal with hundreds of mods i never even heard the name of let lone know how they work even in their basic form or not know or ever see before 90% of the items.

i think i am doing ok.

managed to follow few guides and use common sense and logic to guide me to get started with the auto cob gen, lava farm and so on.

i have automated a sieving process with pulverisers and auto sieves and even made a simple terminal/drive/cell ME system (after lots of reading and alot of trial and error) to put all the items into (took me a full day to figure out how to get the redflux to make the ME system work). i started on magical crops, made an auto mob farm for items and exp, and even managed to connect the mob farm to the ME system directly with an import bus.

now i am getting tons of damaged bows, damaged gear and specific unwanted items. taking them out manually takes too long  i tryed to google on how to filter them read a few confusing suggestions. one of them is something called fuzzy card. lets just say the name fits all the descriptions about it, which makes me fuzzy also.

i understand it is supposed to be a filter and the concept is understood but the information i read is unclear in the details.

if i put it in an import bus will it reject specific items or accept specific items?

if i put it in an export bus the same question is asked again.

and how do you set it to the right items to filter?

also is there a cleaner more efficient way to filter items?

the ideal system for me would trash all bows (enchanted or not/damaged or not) and stone swords. and place all damaged gear in a repair system for me to pulv for more iron/gold/leather and smelt for steel. i really dont mind picking items and manually throwing them in a smeltery (i like control over my fuilds  :))

hope someone can help me out or guide me in the right direction.

i'll even take a general name "use this and that" i'll look into it and work it out myself. seriously ANY help would do.

ok lastly if you did make it this far after reading it all sorry for for the long post.

Import and export buses have the ability to filter items built in. I think it starts with with one filter slot, but can be upgraded to 9 with two Capacity cards. If you want to trash bows, all you need is a Trash Can and an export bus. Just filter the bus to export bows into the trash can, and it will dump all bows, enchanted, damaged or otherwise, into the trash can. You can use the same setup for the swords, just put a capacity card into the export bus to increase the filter size.

Armor is slightly more of a pain due to the fact it has four pieces per set and that there are a dozen sets of it. You could set up some chests with export buses on them to export armor to different places to be smelted or repaired.

This should help with questions about the functions of buses, cards, etc. http://ftbwiki.org/A...d_Energistics_2
