So I have been writing a few of the Thaumcraft 4 pages that either have no content or incomplete content, and I was wondering what the colours are that can be used (if someone has a list that would be really helpful).

I know the format is <span style=''color:(insert colour)''>(insert words you want coloured)</span> but some colours do not appear to work (the text does not change colour at all).

Any help would be much appreciated :)

These are standard CSS colors, as described at w3schools. In general though, I think colored text should be used sparingly if at all. The wiki has 3 different skins available, each with a different background color, not to mention the difficulty we might cause for our colourblind users if appropriate colors are not used. I've not looked much at the Thaumcraft 4 articles: in what context are different colors being used?

True, it would probably better to avoid coloring text unless really necessary, to new users they could look like links or something special. By the way, you can log in on the wiki using your forum username and password, that way your edits will be listed under your name instead of an IP address.

 The colours were being used with aspects from T4, just as a little dynamicism to the articles, but I'll keep those points in mind, thanks!

Use {{T4Aspect}} template instead of changing the colours. It will display aspect's icon and make it more noticeable.

For example, {{T4Aspect|herba}}  or {{T4Aspect|aer}} or {{T4Aspect|praecantatio}}

In the past our Thaumcraft articles have sported colors for Thauminomicon texts and whatnot, could we bring that back maybe?
I am iffy about it myself though.

That doesn't really work for the cases we're looking at here. The aspects are referred to by name in the Thaumonomicon entries, and this is mostly where color has been changed.
