Combustion engines..combusting?

i have a setup so that where the combustion engines are being cooled and fed with fuel automatically. the gates a=ct as a failsafe, but the engines are blowing up, but not destroyng any nearby blocks or pipes. are they being overfilled with fuel

? is that een possible?

No, they cannot be overfilled with fuel. Are you sure your water source is being loaded in all the time? If you water supply originates in one chunk and the engine is in another it is possible for the water source not to be loaded in and the engine will eventually run out of water.

 

Also, you might want to do a "dry run" without any water in the engine to make sure your gates are working properly.
