ATG problem

It may simply be the fact that Tech World 2 uses ATG 0.9.3, while Monster uses ATG 0.9.4. Also check that the configs settings are the same (but be aware that 0.9.4 added some new config options). And of course, make sure the server is actually using ATG generation :P

 

If all of that looks square... I know Thaumcraft 4 adds a new biome, so that could possibly scramble up what ATG chooses to put where.

Hello,

 

I use the TechWorld mod pack and I found a perfect seed with the ATG generator. With a friend we would like to rent a server with the Monster mod pack. I would like use the same map seed. The problem is that the map is absolutely different. I checked if the seed is correct. I try to remove one or two mods but I don't found which mod change my map like this.

Could you tell me which mod do this modifications ?

Is the server the same pack version? If all else fails you should be able to upload the save from your singleplayer world to the server so it will use it

Yes, it's the same version. But the problem is not the map is different between the local minecraft and the server, but between two different mod pack (techworld and monster).

to explore the map before could be a solution. But in this case some resources will not be generated. So I can't do that like this.

It may simply be the fact that Tech World 2 uses ATG 0.9.3, while Monster uses ATG 0.9.4. Also check that the configs settings are the same (but be aware that 0.9.4 added some new config options). And of course, make sure the server is actually using ATG generation :P

Hmm. Like i said, you stil should be able to upload the world to the server. Just be sure you make a fresh one without any blocks placed, if you have stuff, im not sure.

The problem is, the terrain they like was generated in Tech World 2. They want to play on Monster with the same terrain, but the seed creates different terrain. Uploading the world they like would generate ugly chunk boundaries wherever they reach unexplored terrain, and explored terrain wouldn't have ores from mods which Monster has that TW2 doesn't.

Of course we did that ;) .

 

I tried to remove some mod like : Natura, Highlands, Thaumcraft, Drytrees and ProjectRed world (generate some volcanos). We keep Biome O'Plenty (it's in the Techworld pack).

Which other mod could affect the generation ? (Twilight forest doesn't affect the over-world ?)

 

 

P.S : Just if you are interrested by the seed it is : -4246100693060283038 under techworld 2 (very equilibred)

Well after tests, it's well the configuration. With the same configuration (with the new ATg or the previous version) the terrain is the same.
