Hello!

 

So I've just started up a new FTB Monster server today and one of the players is having some trouble logging on. Specifically he's getting the error message that I titled this thread.

I'm not sure if this is a server-side error or a client-side error... but another player managed to get on without any problems.

 

If you google the issue, the advice is to uninstall and reinstall Java... which this person has done and it hasn't worked.

 

So I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with this error. Is there something I need to do server-side to fix the problem? Or does the player need to do something? Or both?

Have you whitelisted him, if necessary? Is he using the same mods? Same version and pack? Any other mods? What does your server console output say when he tries to connect?

He is whitelisted, and I just verified that in the whitelist file. I believe he is using the same mods.

 

In the server logs I see this entry multiple times throughout the day:

 

2014-11-01 08:04:51 [INFO] ***** [/**.**.**.***:*****] lost connection

 

(I blanked out their name and IP address)

Alrighty. Can he join other servers? Have you tried restarting the server?

That's a good question... I'm not sure if he can join other servers (I sent him a link to this thread so he can see your question.) I'm restarting the server right now, so maybe that will help.

Alright, let me know, the more i know the better i (or more likely, others here) can figure it out.

So far we know Aezex:

- Got a JavaIOException
- Is whitelisted
- Got a SocketException
- Updated to Java 1.7.0_71

I tried to join another server once, but I got another java.IO exception.

I feel like it's a java error, not the pack itself. Singleplayer works right?

Haven't tried to play singleplayer on that pack, but all the others work just fine. And I did play on a couple modded servers before, so it's not impossible.

 

EDIT: Tried logging on again. No luck.
