There have been some tweaks to the ore distribution in the Direwolf20 pack. This is the spreadsheet that shows what ore is on what y-level and where it is most common. There is another link on the launcher as well.

Are you involved in those tweaks? I am asking because in v1.01 of this pack, nether quartz ore will not generate if you remove Biomes O Plenty. I found a fix for this, but not sure if it's the correct way.

No, I'm not involved in these tweaks. If you believe you found a bug, you should report it to the official FTB team for them to fix.

In the meantime, what is the fix?

I don't know how to contact the FTB team. And I posted the fix I found in another topic about disabling Biomes O Plenty thread. I will just paste the change here. It's for config/cofh/world/vanilla.json file, changing the quartz part of the program.

 "quartz": { "template": "uniform", "block": "quartz_ore", "material": "minecraft:netherrack", "clusterSize": 13, "numClusters": 16, "minHeight": 10, "maxHeight": 118, "retrogen": "true", "biomeRestriction": "blacklist", "biomes": [], "dimensionRestriction": "whitelist", "dimensions": [ -1 ] }

Adding the "material": line was what worked for me, even though changing biome and dimension restrictions didn't work. I think that's what made retrogen possible?

Either BoP has it's own ore gen, or it makes it possible for that buggy cofh quartz ore to generate.
