Cannot set Java to use Java 7 (latest Java 7.) I need a bit of help, if anyone could I would seriously appreciate it. I have Java 8 and Java 7 installed, but both my PATH and CLASSPATH are set to the Java 7 path.

I've had issues with windows 8 and java 8 running minecraft. When I googled about it there seems to be issues with java 8 and forge mod loader. When I tried to put the path to java 7 in the .bat files it still kept using java 8. I'm not sure if there is an actual fix for this all I did was remove java 8 and all is fine again.

Minecraft might be prioritizing Java 8 over Java 7. It's best to just uninstall Java 8 altogether.

If you look in the console log, it should say which Java versions are installed and which one it's using.

1.6 modpack? Download Java 7 here. 1.7.10+? Download Java 8 here.
