Help! Moving old world to Mystcraft age, ID mismatch!

old world mystcraft age ID mismatch moving

Best Answer Nuin , 01 February 2015 - 11:18 PM

Nevermind, found a solution elsewhere.

It seems that I had to copy the level.dat/FML/ItemData (1391 entries) with NBT from the old world into the new world. On re-entering the age (with a fresh copy of my old world), everything was as I had left it, all IDs intact.

Hope this helps someone when they search for a solution. :)

Hi there. I have a world I have been working on for a few weeks now, with lots of AE2, TE, Mek, etc., but I am not in love with the map and wanted to start a new one. At this time, I also updated a few mods and pulled one out.

I was told I could move the old world into a Mystcraft age, so that I could port back and forth to move my stuff to the new Overworld map. I followed instructions online to create a new world with a new stable age, remove the age's contents and replace it with my old world's region data (including NBT seed and coordinates). All seemed well until...

ID mismatch hell. The painted smooth stone in my old base had become Painting Machines. The twelve vanilla chests I moved everything into was corrupted. Some items were there, others either changed or missing. My Extra Utilities Bag of Holding, which contained my entire AE2 system, turned into a bucket of liquid redstone. Clearly, Forge reorganized the block/item IDs.

I went back to my old world and everything loaded fine, which tells me that it is the world folder that dictates block/item IDs, not Forge itself. I did block and item dumps to confirm this, but beyond that, I am lost.

Is there any way I can copy the old IDs over from the old world folder to the new world so everything stays the same? My only other alternative is to completely start over or temporarily access creative mode to painkstakingly resummon all my items into the new world. I would appreciate any assistance here. Please help!
