How to get enderpearls early game?

Do I really have to murder endermen? :| In ftb monster I would get 1 ender pearl, and by the time I needed more - I could easily replicate them with mimichite.

In Ftb infinity it seems I have no choice but to farm endermen the old fashioned way. Even when I found ominous woods biome - it lacked the night effect and endermen wouldn't spawn there during the day.

Meh.. I need more than that.... I just got myself a jetpack and killed some ender minis then went to closest stronghold and activated portal to the end. Now I have my looting +3 Manyulyn sword and infinite supply of endermen xD

The dragon gets a bit annoying though.
