Try using a dev build of MCEdit (it must be a dev build, the newest stable release will break your save but the dev build won't) to remove the blocks. BTW, you'd probably be better posting issues you want known to the mod author in the individual mod's thread on MCF, as (afaik) the mod authors don't check these forums much if at all.

My username is digitallyApocalyptic. I contribute where I can on the wiki and I've previously built pretty much the entirety of Category:Twilight Forest. I play FTB Ultimate, some games on Steam, and I follow MS Paint Adventures.

TechiesDream, you should be able to download the latest dev version of MCEdit, and open up your map to delete the offending blocks.
Prior versions of MCEdit won't support mod blocks so will mess up your world.
edit: Do'h I didn't see digitally Apocolyptic had already posted.
Just checking MCEdit, it looks like the current release build, 1.7, now includes support for block id's up to 4096, so should be mod friendly so you don't need the dev build.
Make a backup prior anyway.

Back in the day, I MCEdit'd a skele spawner back in after a freak accident involving a creeper. This was in a Redwood Forest. In the affected chunks, all redwood leaves got converted into Sticky Pistons! Fortunately it was only 1 or 2 chunks and I rarely used them other than for skele grinding, so I just left it as is and kept playing - with a good chuckle every time I came to visit.
At any rate, I'm pretty sure the chunk was devoid of mod ores after that, so do take precautions.

Kahless, thats because until very recently MCEdit only supported block ID's up to 256. Most/all mod blocks have id's greater than this.
The current release version 0.17 states it supports block ID's up to 4096, which means it should work with most/all mods.

I've found a strange bug now I've finally managed to make a Mining Laser (there has got to an easier and faster way to make helium!)
...the mode select button M doesn't work
If I remap it to other buttons it works, but just not M - I find this kinda annoying... I'm used to having it map to M

If anything from TrainCraft is also mapped to M, that will override mode-switch. Even if that's not the case, there may be some other key conflict, perhaps with your minimap or some other mod.

You don't have enough RAM allocated to FTB. Check the Options tab in the launcher, see if you can increase the slider. If not, you'll need 64-bit java, which only works if you have a 64-bit computer.

The menu for the Gregtech Advanced Regulator won't show numbers on the right side. I have tried using the defualt skin and still have the same problem. I am using Java 7 Update 75 and Java 7 Update 75 (64-bit).
