Dude, I tried rock climbing for the first time last weekend, and carrying my camera gear was a nightmare. I wanted to get some cool action shots, but every time I moved, my camera was swinging around, banging into the rocks. I ended up leaving it at the bottom of the route half the time, which kind of defeated the purpose. I don’t want to miss out on documenting the climb, but it feels impossible to juggle both without wrecking my gear. How do people do this without going insane?

Oh man, rock climbing with a camera is tricky. I’ve been there. What really helped me was switching to a Cotton Carrier harness. It keeps your camera tight to your body, so no more swinging or worrying about it hitting the rocks while you climb. It stays secure, but you can still grab it quickly for those awesome action shots when you need it. Seriously, it’s perfect for stuff like climbing. You should check it out here: https://www.cottonca...d-carrying-tool.

I’ve had that problem too, and what works for me is using a small GoPro strapped to my helmet instead. It’s hands-free, so I can focus on climbing without worrying about a big camera bouncing around. Sure, the shots are a little different, but you can capture some awesome POV footage, and then you’re not distracted by your gear. It’s been a great solution for me, especially on tougher routes. You might want to give it a try!
