So, apparently this wiki was originally hosted on wikia and moved away from there at some point. However there still is a wikia on http://feed-the-beast.wikia.com/, which apparently is the old version of this one before the move - so why exactly does it still exist as "classic" and is still being contributed to? Wouldn't it be better to leave some kind of note on its main page informing about the move?

 

Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere before, I can't seem to find any information about what happened after the move.

We left a note there once, everyone who did so got permabanned from all Wikia sites and all the notes were removed.

I changed that wiki to FTB Wiki Classic so that people would stop editing those articles but it isn't working...

wut? Can't you delete a wikia site? lemme check that.

To make a long story short, they basically said:
"It is a community wiki now, the content is not yours, you cannot delete it unless you prove the right of ownership"

um... who originally created the wikia anyway? RZR0? Whoever created it in the first place should be able to clarify the move away from wikia - we didn't remove anything after all. Well, obviously the wikia was still contributed to after the move and thus has some changes that are not on this wiki...

When moving, wikia makes it nearly impossible to mention the "move".

That's... interesting, to say the least. Well, I know one person (Vector Cramp) who moved his wikia away apparently without problems. Then again, he was essentially the only contributor to the wiki. However I haven't been active on that wiki for a while and it would'nt be very nice to come on there for the first time in months just to ask him how he got off of wikia.

Major difference there is that our wikia raked in TONS AND TONS of views and therefore Wikia made a LOT of money from us.

That is true. And apparently there are still enough visitors that they don't want to let us go.
