So I've been having problem with my Buildcraft power system. My power core is a single Restone Energy Cell powered by a Combustion Engine with fuel, with a gate providing a redstone signal when the Energy Cell can accept power. This worked fine for a while, but I noticed today that my cell was down to 300k MJ despite the fact none of my machines were using power besides my Applied Energistics network, which uses 27 AE units, which should be the equivalent of 5.4 MJ (I also have a steam engine providing 4 MJ just to it, so it really should only be using 1.4 MJ from the main network).

Curiously for a while when I was trying to diagnose the problem, I disconected the cell from my entire power system with only a single energy conduit removed and noticed that power would be outputed at the maximum allowed rate. Since nothing I have could possibly be using 50 MJ/tick, clearly there i a glitch somewhere, but eventually this stopped. However, since the cell seemed to work fine before hooking it up to the ME Controller, I'm wondering if perhaps ME Controllers do not play well with Energy Conduits and take all the power they can.

ME systems take power continuously. A lot, depending on your setup.

Check your controller; what does it say the energy use is? Just curious.
