The name's Garimon, and I've only recently 'discovered' FTB. I knew it was out there but didn't really take the time to try it out until now. One word....huge. I've been using unleashed in the past week or so, it's been a ton of fun!
This wiki has been tremendously helpful, so I wanted to join the community and connect with everyone that's made it so great. I have been playing with mostly build craft and industrial but am looking forward to branching out, especially keeping an apiary.
I've been playing vanilla minecraft since alpha, this has reenergized my interest! I look forward to talking with you all.

Hello and welcome! I like how you say you look forward to "keeping an apiary"... once you get into bees, you'll find that one isn't nearly enough. I think 8 may be a workable number of apiaries... or if you're crazy like me, you wind up with over a hundred, trying to have at least one apiary for each breed of bee.

Timrem, you are probably right about having a lot of them, seems interesting.
As for gregtech, after watching some YouTube vids about it, I am not sure chat to think, looks like fun though.
And I hate autocorrect on the iPad.

I think that if I'd started into Minecraft mods with GregTech, I wouldn't have stuck with it. With so many new toys to play with, I was looking to have fun, not be frustrated by tedium. I'd recommend staying away from GregTech until you're looking for a more challenging experience.

Hehe. GregTech... it's totally crazy, but it's quite fun to get items.
Anyways, welcome!

True.
Also I have about 6 apiaries, seems alright.

Yeah, definitely don't start out with Gregtech.
And if you want to start with bees already, try the bee house. You can't get mutations so you won't be getting diamond making super bees, but they're fun and gives you more drones to work with. If you want to start collecting their products look into a centrifuge and clockwork engine.
...And his fists for punching trees.

I agree. GregTech is one of my favorite mods, and I am (unlike most people) excited that Greg is on the IC2 team now. But you might actually be able to use it earlier if you turn off his recipe changes.
