Maybe you're missing a required library or Java can't find it somehow?

bcprov-[whatever_jdk_version]on-[whatever_version_number].jar is a required library for Minecraft. Obviously bcprov stands for Bouncy Castle Provider.

E.g.:

bcprov-jdk15on-1.47.jar

Trying to connect to my friend's server, failing to connect, given this:

Tried adding "-XX:MaxPermSize=128m" to the additional params thing, didn't work (does it need to be in quotes?).

I was apparently missing "bcprov-jdk15on-1.47.jar.sha" from the folder... copying the files from my vanilla java install over that worked. Weird.

.sha is probably a file containing a SHA256 checksum for the actual file.
