stripping back unwanted mods

horizon unwanted mods no horses

what can I strip out of Horizon direwolf20 so that the game will still be great but without magic, funny plants, horses, and other stuff that get in the way of just playing Tinkers Construct without all the other crap

Did you want to play the Horizon pack, or the Direwolf20 pack? From what you're asking, it sounds like you only want to play with one mod...

If you're using the Direwolf20 pack, some mods you are probably dealing with:

New biomes/plants are added by Biomes O'Plenty and Natura.

Magic is added by Thaumcraft and Ars Magica.

Technology is added by IndustrialCraft, Buildcraft, Thermal Expansion, Applied Energistics, Factorization, and MineFactory Reloaded.

Bees and things are added by Forestry, Magic Bees, and Extra Bees.

Portal guns, Iron chests, and Gravity guns are all added by mods of the same name.

Basically, you can customize the pack however you want, and I can't tell you what you want based on your short description.

Also, horses are actually in Vanilla Minecraft 1.6, so there's no way to get rid of them.

If you want no magic, use Tech World 2. That's what that pack is for. Not quite sure what mods that are not strictly tech are in there (TiC, Natura, BOP), but you could add those in from other packs.
