I was thinking about Complete The Monument maps and FTB, and I wondered how a CTM map would work in FTB? There would be more traps, ext, but it would be hard to balance. If you have any ideas for areas that could be made, please post them here. Some ideas I already have are:

Changing flux to add bad mobs

Custom mob spawners with angry zombies, ect

Use of the extra thaumcraft and other mod enchants

twilight forest mobs, like hydras

frame motors and such for moving platforms

twilight forest flame shooters that are in the ground spread around areas to shoot flames

more minerals ---> more blocks needed

Use of ariel faith plates, ect

There are many ideas, please feel free to post any and all ideas. I might not make a map because of time constraints, but if someone eventually does, the ideas will be here.

TrainCraft trains hosting creepers! If possible.

The faith plate is actually somewhat useful if you don't like making tracks.

Twilight Forest has a WHOLE bunch of stuff, especially the new stuff, that would be great for CTMs. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to documenting it on this wiki yet as I'm working on making mob pages at the moment, but the new items such as the Tower Builder (builds blocks in a preconfigured configuration), the Reappearing Blocks (disappears and reappears when right-clicked or receiving a Redstone current; also triggers adjacent Reappearing Blocks to do the same) and all sorts of other blocks would be really great for a CTM map in FTB. Fire Jets are a bit finicky to use, however, so they may not be the most reliable of blocks for ignition of other blocks. The really challenging TF bosses also have a tendency to destroy blocks, and a lot of them in a short space of time.

The new mobs could also be good (e.g. Ghasts that center around a certain point, automatically hostile Iron Golem mobs, buffed-up Silverfish) when making a Super Hostile map.

I might make a mini-CTM map later this month when the mindcrack pack gets updated and it doesn't crash for me. I think it would have a starting area and 4 other areas. An suggestions for each area?

The ore magnet isn't that great, as it can only bring a few blocks of ore towards the player (about 16 per magnet, depending on how it's used) and breaks very quickly afterwards. It would be great for a CTM, as you'd have to very carefully choose how to use an Ore Magnet to bring ores up from the ground. That would be a good function, but Ore Magnets don't work for Coal Ore, so they couldn't be used for that purpose.

I feel like a naturally generated Dark Tower (sorry, this wiki page isn't very documented, but if you find one and explore it you will see how wonderful they are for CTM maps; Magic Maps are great for this purpose) would make a great staging area or a theme for an area of a CTM map. I also feel like if it's FTB, having a renewable and strong source of power would be an important prerequisite to conquering areas, and gaining the ability to power items would be a reward for conquering areas. Another way of looking at the "power" aspect is that perhaps also the player could find hidden Single-Use Batteries that would go towards fueling an extra-objective MFSU that gives out some sort of fairly powerful reward when filled.

An area with VERY high flux from Thaumcraft might be difficult to navigate due to the Wisps, Giants and so forth, and I'm sure that some really devious things could be done with both the Soul Shards mod and the Portal Gun mod...

Yes the whole power aspect would seem cool. If players were given like batboxes and nano armor, then they would need to charge the armor, etc.

Or you could use some custom villagers and make single use batteries as one of the trades.

Interesting, I didn't know that. But i did know it brakes quickly. Their just in every hallow hill about.

Maybe a custom modpack would be good.
