I just can't find ores frequently... I mean... to get iron I need to mine like 200 blocks to get it!!! Am I not mining in the right layer (12,13)? Or is it a mod?

Do you have metallurgy?
What mods are in your pack, besides those default ones?
Did you edit any configs?
Are there any other types of ores?
Try creating a new world. Are the ores readily available there?
What ores DO you find?
What Y axis do you find them in? Usually, worlds are no deeper than 80ish, and in mountainous areas much more.
Did you add or remove mods recently?
Has this happened in other instances?
What type of world are you in? (ATG, Superflat, etc)
What monster version are you running?
Iron is from 5-63, mostly. Check to be sure you not at 70, or so.
