ID mismatch issues

ID mismatches Forge Issues

Best Answer Out of order , 30 September 2014 - 07:00 AM

timrem,

I did what you said. But it's the same problem again. ID mismatch between world and game, therefore I can't save my game. You can imagine how sad it is to abandon your good old world...spending tons of hours to create it...

The log file still has 1,8 mb. But I can use a download server again.

PS:

If a world is destroyed after moding, I don't care. Because I always make backups of my savegames before I add mods or playing arround with my modpack. I named me "Out of Order" (I was just too lazy to think up a better alias) but I'm not out of my mind ;)

PS (11.10.2014):

Finally I solved the problem. It was Powercraft that caused these problems. I disabled it and enabled it again, and there we go! I had only to load my savegame and save after Forge grumbled about the ID missmatches. Than I enabled powercraft again. Everything is fine now. Chisel as well as Atomic Science working now correctly. I don't know why Powercraft causes such issues. This mod has a very cheap teleporter which teleports you anywhere you want in the overworld. I only had to set up again them. But that's ok.

After I added the Chisel mod, Forge found an id mismatch between world and game. The id is 79. So, it concerns the ice block. I think it's about the metadata why Forge has found an id mismatch. However, I can load my world without any problems. No ice blocks Disappeared, I can break them and I get ice shards as intended by the mod. Everything is fine. But after I saved the game, and I tried to reload the game, my whole game progress wasn't saved! The savegame was the same before saving. What can I do? I would really appreciate if anyone has an idea.

PS: English is not my native language. Please bear this in mind.

Oh. Hm, did you try disabling the mod and checking if it saves?

Yes. After I disabled the mod, I had no save problems. But I can't use all these fancy blocks :(

Try looking through this thread and see if you can fix that ID. (http://ftbforums.org...6-id-conflicts/)

Thanks Aezex for your proposal. But it would only cause another ID mismatch between game and the world if I change the ID for example to 80. ID 79 (ice block) is a vanilla Minecraft block though. And to my knowledge theres no config file for vanilla Minecraft. But I think I can help you. In your threat you have trouble with Bibliocraft ID's. Try to make an ID dumb via NEI. Theres an option in the NEI called: "Dumb ID map now". Make shure that you had activate (I forgot the exact name. But it's somthing like): "dumb free ID numbers too". Look for a free ID in the dumb and change the ID number from the occupied ID to a free ID number. That's helped me always in this case. Lower numbers are always better than higher because that could cause an out of range exception. For example: I:ArmorStand=2249 and you have free ID's like 2300 and 1950. Chose 1950 to prevent from that out of range exception.

In my Unhinged mod pack I added Tinkers Construct, Ars Magica, Quarry Plus, Bibliocraft, Natura, and so on. Now I have 132 active mods in this pack working great. Except Chisel. That would be number 133. I messed arround with this mod that much because the original Unhinged pack is (at least to me) just too unhinged. But Gregtech it's just a too awesome mod to be excluded from a Minecraft mod pack (At least in my opinion). I hope that at least I could help you.

Back to my problem. If I create a new world, theres no ID mismatches. And I can save my game properly. Would It maybe help if I use Mcedit? I copy ice blocks from this new world and paste them in my old replacing the old blocks. According to Mcedit there is no difference between the ice blocks from my old and new world (ID: 79.0) Same Block ID, same metadata ID. What's wrong  ???.... :(

I appreciate the help, but that is a very old thread, and the problem was resolved.

Somehow I don't think that MCEdit will help much.

Why won't changing the ID work?

Also, posting a log of the ID conflict or the console log would help. Or your Chisel config file.

Not sure if this is applicable, but sometimes NEI has problems with metadata values.

Maybe some screenshots?

Sorry for the delayed answer. A screenshot wouldn't reveal more than I already said. You would only see a screen with the text (analogously): "Forge has found ID missmatches between world and game. ID: 79. Do you wish to continue loading?"

Here is the log file and outlog file.

(Due to the size of the file (over 7 MB), I only copied the last section)

I hope this helps. If you wish I make a video.

Changing the ID will not work because 1. As I said: If I change the ID, Forge will find just another ID mismatch between world and game. The ID for the ice block is 79 in the savegame. When I change it, Forge will not find a match for that particular block. Due to the changed config, forge expect the new ID (for example 80).  2. There is no (to my knowledge) config file for vanilla Minecraft.

Forge loads the mod. No problem. The mod appears in NEI, and I can craft every item from Chisel. Everything would be fine if I could save my game progress.

That log text is too short to make anything out of it. :(

In the Chisel config file, there is an ID for ice. Try changing it and see what happens.

I'm going to try to get someone with more experience in this area to help, because I don't code.

Otherwise, I think it's better to use 132 mods that work than 133 that don't.

Aezex,

did you find someone to help me out here?

By now there are 146 mods in my modpack including Mekanism and Atomic Science. But after I installed Atomic Science, (yes - it works even with Industrialcraft 2! I just said that, because of I heared about some threats that this isn't possible.) Forge says again "ID missmatches between world and game. The concerned items are: Steel dust and copper wire. But Mekanism brings already exactly this steel dust. The copper wire appeared in NEI since I started to play Unhinged (without any changes to the modpack). It's a riddle why Atomic Science changes this items. However, same problem as usual. All mods are loaded, and they appear in NEI, I can use all items and blocks properly, but Forge refuses to save my game duo to the ID mismatches.

LexManos, Eloraam or Spacetoad should read this threat. The mod authors should know what's going on.

Does someone know whether theres a kind of "force save" option in Forge which you can access via console orders?

Debugging features which can help me?

There must be a way to save the game progress. I'm close to have the modpack of my wildest dreams. This is why I don't want to give up. You should can say Forge just ignore these mismatches and save regardless of any ID mismatches. Just overwrite the old IDs with the new ones.

Please guys, help me!

So far as we can tell, it's not just the ID that's causing the problem. Something is accessing the save while the game is saving, therefore it can't save properly. No idea what is causing it...

See if you can copy-paste the log into a spoiler instead of uploading it as a file. It might have info that could help that we couldn't see.

The log file has a size about 2 mb. When I was trying to upload the spoiler with the text of the log file, the browser windows hanged up. I think it is not possible to send such big texts. So I decided to upload it to a download server. Here's the link:

I hope this helps.

Please only download the "ForgeModLoader-client-0.log.13" file. The other file may not the proper one. Sorry

I don't know, but perhaps this line in the log could be the problem. Incorrect state of the state engine - because of the ID mismatch?

2014-09-28 00:24:42 [INFORMATION] [ForgeModLoader] The state engine was in incorrect state SERVER_STARTING and forced into state SERVER_STOPPED. Errors may have been discarded.

Please don't double post. Edit your post if nobody has posted after you.

Also, FTB Packs usually aren't supported if they are changed because then they aren't an FTB Pack they're something you've created. The only advice I can give you to get it working is to redownload the pack and play it as intended.

Ok. Sorry for the double post.

TehRawrz,

of course, you are right. But I think the purpose of moding is just to play around. It's intended to have fun. And if there is no modpack out there that is matching my preferred way to play, well, than I have to mod by myself. I added so much mods to the pack to have the best experience out of all the mods I'd like to play with. And I thought that I can get some help from the men and women with more clue about the modpack than me.

However, to use modpacks is easier than making everything by myself. I don't want to waste your time. It would only be nice if someone has an idea to make this working. I hope that I didn't annoy somebody.

Creating modpacks in 1.6.4 requires more knowledge than 1.7.10 because of the ID system. In 1.7.10 you're free to throw however many mods together you'd like. In 1.6.4 care has to be taken to add mods individually and take care of conflicts before they pile up on top of each other creating an indistinguishable mess not knowing what caused the problem.

TehRawrz,

You are right again. But I need a solution for my current problem. I mean it should be possible to solve it.

To prevent any misunderstandings, the threat is about the Unhinged (Minecraft 1.5.2) modpack. In Monster I didn't encounter problems so far. I said that Chisel raises an ID mismatch issue with the ice block after I added the mod. That's comprehensible because of that you can break ice blocks to ice shards with Chisel installed - without not. Atomic Science raises ID mismatches even with Items (Steel dust and Copper wire (the Universal Electricity one)) they are not part of Atomic Science. Maybe this is caused by recipes which are used or altered from Atomic Science. But that's not the point. All mods are working. I only can't save my game. After saving, the savegame is the same as before. If I create a new world or I recreate the world, there is no ID mismatch between world and game and I can save my game. But in both cases I have to start at the scratch. That's my problem. So, we should focus on why Forge doesn't save my game. I don't want to discard my old world. Aezex said that the problem could be caused by something that accessing the savegame while the game is saving. But minecraft always access the save game. I can't delete the savegame neither with ID mismatches nor without them while playing. Windows always says that the file is already accessed by a programm. We need to figure out what's the problem with Forge.

However,

maybe my English is just to bad to explain my problem properly. I'm not a native speaker.

I close the thread if we can't find a solution within a few days. Here are too much replies. The thread is already marked as "HOT".

But I still hope that somebody has a sparking idea.

You just stated your own issue. There's a mismatch between the world because you added mods that weren't originally in that world. Messing with mods risks destroying your world. Reverting back to before it has that message is your only choice like I said before. There is no problem with forge.

Done correctly, adding mods should rarely, if ever, destroy a world. Removing mods is the far more dangerous task. It sounds like Out Of Order has done everything correctly, since any new world works. This isn't an ID Conflict issue. ID Mismatch is Forge's (or FML's, not sure which) way to resolve differences between a world's initial set of mods, and its current set of mods. It happens during first run after almost any modpack version update. It should have no impact on the world being able to save. I don't know why it's not saving.

Out Of Order: Please try using your set of mods, without Chisel, to create a new world. Punch a tree, place a crafting table, then save and quit. Add Chisel, and see if this new world has the same problems as your main world. If you rename your log files before doing this, the new log files should have only relevant information, and be well within any size limits.
