Combustion Engine excess liquid extraction

Best Answer jalbee , 18 March 2013 - 06:28 PM

Pipettes only seem to work with biogas engines -- I really wish they would work with combustion as well considering how potent biofuel/fuel is.

If you go the Redstone Energy Cell route, I'd suggest using a chunkloader to keep the chunk the cell is on from being unloaded. I've had issues where redstone energy cells lose their charge when I log out, which is really annoying when they are fully charged.

On my singleplayer world, I've overestimated the amount of fuel I would need to use in a Combustion Engine to power a 16x16 quarry. The quarry is finished now and I'm wondering if there's a method of extracting the excess fuel from the engine, as I've tried using pipettes, liquiducts and waterproof pipes to extract it to no avail.

You could convert it to energy using the engine and store it as energy in a redstone energy cell.

Also, you can tesserect it back to your base and store the energy there.

Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to create tesseracts just yet, as I haven't done much mob farming or gotten many ender pearls. Tesseracts have a 25% energy loss anyways, so I'm really averse to using tesseracts unless I have something several kilometers away that needs power that I absolutely can't power any other way. It also seems like a bit of a waste of ender pearls when there are some other fairly end-game recipes that need ender pearls to work properly.

I suppose I'll have to go the Redstone Energy Cell route. With the setup I have (3 Combustion Engines on fuel for a total 18 MJ/t), I can run a quarry in a pretty short span of time or fill Redstone Energy Cells pretty quickly. Thanks for your advice.
