So I was wondering. When is it going to be safe to use Java 8 without Forge freaking out? Is there a certain version that it works with, or is it just the nature of Forge? Or Java 8? Or something?

1.6 modpack? Download Java 7 here. 1.7.10+? Download Java 8 here.

All Forge versions for 1.7.10 and up are fully compatible with Java 8. There's also the Legacy Jar Fixer, it's a small mod that fixes old Forge's incompatibilities with Java 8.
