I have been looking into getting a pc for gaming and i would like to know what short of hardware i would need to run feed the beast at

decent settings (eg normal render distances) with a texturepack (sorartex) at a decent fps.

 

The computer ive been looking at has:

 

amd fx-6300 six core bulldozer cpu

amd radeon 6670 2gb graphics card

8gb ddr3 ram

1tb hard drive

64bit window 7 operating system

 

Will this computer be able to run feed the beast with the preferences i first mentioun.

It definitely should be enough.

My computer is a lot worse than this one you mention, and I'm able to run it at Short render distance (with Optifine), at about 15fps. The texture pack shouldn't do too much to you.

 

 

My specs:

Intel^® Core^™ Quad Core i5 CPU        <-- It's Intel, 4-core, yours is 6-core, and it's not Intel. That's a lot better already!

Intel^® HD Graphics - 1696MB           <-- Intel! Intel!

4GB Ram                                        <-- The one you're looking at is two times mine in terms of RAM.

Both drives combined ~= 282.9GB     <-- ...

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit       <-- At least we're even on this one. Unless yours is like professional or something.

From what I've read recently, Intel CPU's consistently outperform AMD, especially for heavy multi-threaded processing tasks.

I've been running fine on similar specs with only 3 GB of RAM.

At least you don't have an Intel graphics card.
