While FTB is nice and all, the packs may not have everything you want. Thankfully, forge and the launcher make it very easy to make your own additions to the packs you play. So, the question is: What do you add?
I am currently using MindCrack v7 with Optifine, Additional Pipes, Bibliocraft, and Redstone Jukeboxes added.

Just curious about something here. Why would you need Additional Pipes for MindCrack when just about every pipe's mechanic is already in the game? (The 3 Teleport Pipes = The 3 Tesseracts, Redstone Pipes = Gates, Insertion Pipes = Built-in Buildcraft and Gate mechanics. Not sure about the Distribution pipe but you could probably find a way around it with Redpower.)
Though because I pretty much only use MindCrack for Multiplayer servers, the only extra mod I have installed is Optifine.

Well, for one, I use v7, which doesn't have tesseracts. The pipes also make doing those things a lot easier.

Ah. Apologies then as I wasn't sure when Tesseracts were added. I know that mod is good as it was extremely useful to me back in the Tekkit days so it's nice to know that people still use it.

additional popes
I obviously meant additional pipes but an additional Pope will do, I'm the same though, haven't upgraded tesseracts so continue to use additional pipes. Though I will soon upgrade, most likely.

I haven't added anything other than Optifine.
That makes three!

I always add Millenaire, except when I played the New World pack because Millenaire is already in it, lol.

Because I had to run Optifine on my old PC to make FTB playable, and it's sweet and hasn't caused me any issues.
I disable xycraft because it is a total POS. There are other mods in the pack I never use, but don't disable; only Xycraft has that honour.

i dont find xycraft a POS, i replace my iron tanks with multi tanks, its cheap (you can make it from cobblestone) but thats all i use it for but it makes it SO laggy, and dont get me started on those quartz crystals :/

Lol.
I also used the Fabricator. Xychorium Soil is useful too.

My biggest Issue with Xycraft was that I couldn't stand the excessive quantities of hideously textured glowing xychorium ore.
