There's been a bit of an ongoing edit war over whether the recipes should be collapsed or expanded. We should decide once and for all whether they should be collapsed or expanded here. I haven't looked through the history of the article (for obvious reasons) to see who collapsed them in the first place, or their reasoning, so if someone wants to do that, be my guest. Otherwise, we'll just put in our two cents here and make a decision.

 

Reasons why I think the recipes should be collapsed: Easier to navigate and jump around if you know the category that your recipe falls under. Also, hides recipes you don't want to see (spoilers).

 

Reasons why I think the recipes should not be collapsed: If you don't know the category for your recipe, you have to hunt around, possibly even expand all of the categories to search (a simple Ctrl+F doesn't turn up results in collapsed tables). The spoilers argument is also not very convincing since the whole page is known to be a spoilers page, so if you're visiting it in the first place, you're ok with spoilers.

 

If someone has a better solution or proposal other than this collapsing/uncollapsing tables, you're welcome to come forward as well.

Is there any reason why we can't do the same thing as we did for the bee species page? Collapsed by default with collapse/uncollapse buttons for each individual section, and then a button to expand all of them in the title for each section.

Sounds like a plan. I've undone Heniv181's change, so now the tables are collapsed by default. Someone who knows how to add the Expand All Button can go ahead and do that.

Since we are talking about it, why not collapse all recipes by the main categories (tier 1, tier 2, etc) and not by the individual subcategories?
