I recently joined a friends server and started to learn ftb after playing tekkit a while ago. I have done quite a lot in 3 day and have been building an industrial blast furnace, i used 34 standard casing with two lava cells. Using this i have made 4 solar panels. Next thing i wanted to upgrade my mining drill, so i got the titanium dust, the small ones, combined 4 to make 1 dust, i used this in the industrial blast furnace and it produced a silicon plate and two empty cells. 

 

Is this a bug, something that usually happens or have i done something wrong? I cant find anything online about it and right now im pretty much stuffed if i cant make titanium bars.

Have you tried looking up the recipe in NEI?

Yes, i checked and double checked everything as i was going through the process. It must be a bug because 1 titanium dust does not output 1 silicon plate and two empty cells. I didnt even put cells in the thing. I might screen record the process and see if it happens again.

Does the server use modified configs? If so, you will have to get those and put them into your local config directory. 'Cause this sounds like some recipe/item ID mismatch, although normally FML shouldn't let you on the server if the IDs aren't matching...

If it was just a config mismatch you could expect that it would have appeared to produce one silicon plate (or any random item) but it shouldn't be able to have produced two other items (the cells) as the smelting recipe only produces one output.

 

Actually, I guess if he'd put in 2 titanium dust, but with an id conflict they were actually two silicon cells, then this would produce the silicon plate and two empty cells.

 

Where did the titanium come from? Had you just refined it from Bauxite, or did you just grab it from a chest?
