I'm attempting to craft the Focus Pouch to complete the Wands of Power quest, but when I place the leather and gold ingot in the correct formation into the Arcane Worktable, nothing happens. If I try to craft Salis Mundus, the recipe seems to function properly, so it's definitely a problem with the Focus Pouch specifically. Is there another way to get the pouch, or is this a bug or server setting or similar?

Have you unlocked the focus pouch research in your Thaumonomicon? I believe Salis Mundus doesn't require any research, but the focus pouch definitely does.

Riiiiggghhhttt ... of course, didn't think of that. I'm still a bit fishy on the whole idea of how to conduct research, especially since I'm experiencing a glitch where paper refuses to go on the research table (I've heard it can be done by holding the Thaumonomicon instead?). So I guess I'll just have to ... do research on how to do research?

Paper no longer goes into the research table, so that's not a glitch. Instead, normally, you need to have paper and scribing tools in your inventory, and open your Thaumonomicon. You then can select any available research, and will receive Research Notes for that research which can be put into the research table.

 

Except, Agrarian Skies uses simple mode research: instead of having to do the research table minigame, you simply spend research points directly when you click on a new research, and it unlocks immediately. If you don't have enough points, your best bet is to scan more things with your Thaumometer.
