I'm going through and updating the IC2 material, fixing the red links, pruning out of date material and, updating other information for the current build. But, I've hit a bit of a snag; It seems that, for the life of me, I can't find where to upload photos to the wiki database so that I don't have to link off the site to Photobucket and the like. A little  help would be very appreciated.

In case anyone comes across this thread looking for the answer, you just need to go to the Toolbox menu at the top of the wiki and select "Upload file".

Personally I do it easier, I edit the article that has the image in it and I add the image based on the name I plan to give it so I just input file:42picture.png and then I save the edit.

Once it saves the edit it realizes that 42picture.png isn't a recognized image and it asks you to upload something and from there I upload something.

It is only a moment, the likelihood of something seeing it is very minimal. The likelihood of someone who did see it caring and/or not refreshing the page thinking it hadn't loaded yet is even more minimal.

Previewing it before saving the page also has the redlink that asks for you to upload an image, yes.

Yes, that was the point. Preview, use redlink to upload image, preview again, then save page with image already in place.

How does it feel wrong?! I hate leaving a link to a photo that doesn't exist. Even if there is a 'likelihood' it just feels very wrong to me to do it your way. It feels more right to write the article first THEN add the picture to the article -- a picture that actually exists.

 

Sure, dgelessus' method is alright, but yours? Ugh. Uggghh.

Not specifically, but that's how I've always done it. It's more of a habit than anything else.
