I've seen a way to get an ME Controller's physical power light to turn blue...How do I do it?

I remember playing an older version of FTB, and being able to log on and see my ME Controller's power light turn blue. I experimented with other modpacks in different updated launchers, and the same thing happened. I don't know how it happened, so I'm asking around to see how to make this graphical effect reappear. Anyone know? I need this info badly, been bugging me for years.

Usually I think I overflowed it with power, and after that it turned blue. If that works for anyone else, then I'll just delete this topic. Thanks for reading.

A blue light indicates the controller is receiving power indirectly, usually because it's part of a subnetwork. Here's a Direwolf20 video where he talks about it a bit.

If you saw this on a normal AE network, it was probably just a bug.

I'm not sure how subnetworks worked in AE1, but for me the power light turned blue when the internal energy buffer was empty and the controller started drawing power from an attached Logistics Pipes system connected through an ME Interface. This also works the other way around - if you attach a Basic Logistics Pipe to a ME Interface, it will draw power from the AE network into the LP network.
